Just like fashion, hair trends come and go each season, with a bunch of fun styles being predicted for fall 2011. But who says you have to wait until temperatures drop to change things up?
Braids of all types have been hot for awhile, and that’s not ending any time soon. The half-up look with braids was all over fall 2011 runways – you’ll be seeing this one a lot in the coming months. With a handful of bobby pins, and some artful hair placement to hide the ends, you can crown yourself a braiding master.
With 60s style fashion continuing in popularity, it’s only natural that we see the trend come to our tresses as well. This Brigitte Bardot inspired look can still feel fresh and modern today.
Oh, the top knot – my go-to style when it’s hot outside or I’m just feeling plain lazy. I’ll definitely be wearing this hairstyle well into autumn, with braids or twists to mix it up.
How do you usually wear your hair?

I turned 30 this year, and finally feel mature enough to grow out my hair without falling into the ponytail-everyday-because-I-don’t-know/care/have-time-to-figure-out-anything-else pattern! This weekend I taught myself to use my flat iron as a curling iron and LOVED the result! I am happy to say that, lately, I don’t have a usual! Experimenting with braids, accessories, and texture … look at me, I’m growing up!
And thanks to your heads-up on fall hairstyles, I won’t need to fall back on a boring ponytail anytime soon!
p.s. I know ponytails can be beyond adorable and stylish. When my hair is longer, I’ll work a sleek ponytail (or top knot!) into the repetoire!
Ooh, I’d love to see the results of your work with the flat iron! It’s fun to grow up, isn’t it?:)
LOVED this post. I sometimes don’t feel comfortable with clothes because I still need to lose a few baby weight pounds, but hair styles I can do!!
Seriously. Could you be any cuter! I loved your eyes in each shot…did you enhance the blue?
Seriously, it’s like Princess Bride all over again. You’re so cute!
No! That’s just how they turned out!!
And thank you:)
All stunning shots! Prefer a simple up-do with clip when traveling.
This makes me want to go fuss with my hair. I love them all! I’m going to try the top knot with a braid tomorrow…maybe hide the fact that I won’t be washing my hair tomorrow?:)
That’s exactly why I love to wear my hair that way!;)
Cate, honestly, you have the most gorgeous eyes! I love your Bardot-inspired style and I’m thrilled that braids are still in for fall — one of my favorite looks for sure!

Well, you know I always default to a regular old ponytail… however, if you wanted to style my hair each day I would be totally up for that
Pretty looks! The Brigitte one is especially stunning on you!!
So cute – all of them! I have no idea how to style my hair in different ways – never have and it’s one advantage to only having boys! Nobody’s asking me to do french braids. ;o)
You’re so pretty! Love all these looks on you!
I cut my long hair off last year and now am in the process of trying to decide if I want to grow it back or keep it short a little longer..kinda missing my hair, to tell you the truth.
