I am very busy.
And this isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
My life is filled with all kinds of positive busyness. And on one particular day I went from organizing my closet to doing my study to working on the blog to feeding my kids to… you get the picture. Time and time again, I told my children, “I’ll be there in a minute. Just a second; I’m in the middle of something.”
And suddenly, in the midst of it all, I looked up. And there, streaming in the window, were beautiful rays of light.
And it suddenly hit me – I almost missed it. I almost missed the joy in my backyard right now.
And how many other moments of joy am I missing while I’m busy?
So I grabbed my daughter and out we went to enjoy it instead of letting the moment slip by. And we jumped, and we played, and we DIDN’T MISS IT.
I was inspired by the links my friend Maggie shared yesterday. They really resonated with me – I’ve got stuff to do, and while I need to get them done, I don’t want life to pass me by in the meantime. I know this post is a departure from my norm – but I felt like sharing more from the heart today.
So get out there and don’t miss a moment this weekend!

Do you ever feel like the busyness of life keeps you from enjoying it? Or is that just me?

Pretty pics! I do agree that sometimes I’m so busy it all passes me by. I can’t believe the summer is half over. I need to cherish it because my youngest starts kindergarten. I can’t believe how it just passes by–gotta cherish. Thanks for the reminder!
