On Trend

While I like to think of myself as someone who doesn’t simply follow the trends, there are some that pop up each season that I cannot resist.

First? The slouchy dress sweats. These pants were seriously the most comfortable things. Like wearing pajamas in public, except without the embarrassment. Next time I’m totally going to rock them with heels though. I took a look at these pictures and realized a heel is what these called for, at least on me.

Another big trend this spring is the midi skirt. I always feel like such a lady when I wear this length. And what’s not to love about flouncy pleats? Since I don’t have much of a defined waist, I paired this with a fitted blazer so that the pleats didn’t overwhelm my frame. Pleats can make my waist look wider if I’m not careful.

Quite possibly my favorite new trend this spring is the baseball cap. I mean – how could I not love this? Second day hair and I still look put together. My precious skin, protected from the sun. Wins all around.

  1. LOVE it all! And yes, the slouchy track pants are a heels must. I wore them home from Europe with flats and didn’t feel as great as I do when I’m just a wee bit taller! 😉
Love that skirt!! And am all about the midi this season. Such a great + elegant length.

  2. I do like the midi skirts – I’m a vintage fashion lover, so wear lots of that length (even when it’s not in fashion!). Yours looks great with those wedges and the blazer. Linking up today via the Pleated Poppy. P x

  3. I do love a midi skirt. I agree….it always makes me feel so lady like. I don’t know if I could pull off a baseball hat, though. I loveeee it on other people…but need to try it out myself.

  4. I fully support the midi-skirt trend That’s probably my favorite for spring! I love the idea of the dressed up sweats/track pants, but I just feel like they would love so strange on me! But you pull them off so nicely that I’m tempted 🙂
