I'm standing here in the midst of a mess.

And I'm crying.

These tears have little to do with the mess itself, but rather the feelings pouring over me as I contemplate the changes ahead.

Our little shop in downtown Prior Lake is in its last days.

If you didn't hear the news, our lease was not renewed in our brick and mortar space, and we are taking the opportunity to move to (nearly all) online sales. We found a new warehouse space just down the road, and while we'll still offer local pick up for customers in our area, and warehouse sales throughout the year, the day to day face to face contact with our customers has come to an end.

It's a good thing! But sometimes good things still come with big emotions.

For years, I dreamed of owning a boutique. When the city approached Tammy and I about opening one eight years ago (in our original space two doors down), I got scared and nearly said no. But Tammy made me take the leap, and I've been grateful ever since.

It's been so fun, and we've learned a lot along the way. We've met people we never would have otherwise, and we've watched the downtown Prior Lake area grow and change like crazy in the time we've been here.

But now the dream is changing, and though it'll be sad in some ways, it's a good thing. We love our new spot and are looking forward to the opportunity to grow in different ways.

Today, we sold most of our mannequins to a sweet lady starting a yarn shop nearby. I'm excited about the thought of our 'ladies' getting a fresh start in a new place, while someone else sees their dream take shape.

If you don't have our party on your calendar yet, be sure to do that now! It'll be our Last Hurrah here on Main Ave. From 5-8 pm on 8/18, we'll have giveaways, extra discounts, drinks, and all kinds of fun. We'd love to see you all one last time in person in the spot we've called home for 6 years now.

Thanks for the memories, Prior Lake! You've been pretty great to us. :)
